What this involves

This is complete supervision of your pregnancy and delivery with 24 hour emergency on call.

Antenatal visits and all ultrasound scans would be with Mr Impey, with your local midwife or GP seeing you also if you wish. Your labour would be supervised by Mr Impey who would also conduct your delivery, be this normal, or by caesarean section. You will be given Mr Impey's 'mobile'phone number for emergencies; non-urgent administration is dealt with by Bronwen Meredith, his secretary.

Mr Impey looks after a limited number of private patients per year in order to be able to provide high quality individualised care. Most of the women will be looked after from the start to after the birth, but occasionally he will look after women just at the end.

Private medical care includes:

  1. All ultrasound Scans

    Dating scans
Combined nuchal scan +/- CVS or amniocentesis (incl PCR for results in 2 days)
    16 week scan
    Anomaly (20 week) scan
Growth scans as appropriate or requested, usually at each visit

  2. Screening for Group B streptococcus
